The Roulette baskets are made of recycled PETG plastic extruded over a mold by an industrial robot. Their glasslike appearance is due to the material properties of PET plastic, commonly used for single use water bottles. The robot follows a designed pattern that emulates the spirograph toy from the 1960s. The roulette geometric curves mix with gravity which pulls the molten plastic down and around the form to create the basket. Once cool, the plastic releases from the mold and is ready for use.
