“Plasticus porticus” is a transitory space where viewers are confronted by an unfamiliar materiality of a very familiar material. The piece consists of 350 lbs of post-consumer HDPE and PP plastics collected from the Chicago Botanic Garden’s waste stream as well as fifty plus households in the west Chicago and near suburbs.
